Training Course for JIG Members

Training Course for JIG Members - Training to Inspect to JIG Standards

After review of the highly successful Pilot Course, JIG is delighted to offer a Training Course for its Members to help their personnel to inspect airport operations to JIG Standards.  This course, ‘Training to Inspect to JIG Standards’, has been developed for experienced Aviation Fuels Supervisors and/or Inspectors who wish to enhance their skills in this vital area.  The course has been developed by two Senior Aviation Fuels Technical Specialists who have been JIG Inspectors for a major Oil Company for many years and have vast experience of inspecting operations globally.

Completing the course successfully does not automatically make you a JIG Inspector but it will form part of the requirements for future JIG Inspectors.

The 5 day course has been designed to be highly interactive with a considerable amount of practical work on a large and complex aviation fuels facility.  The course covers:

  • Why we inspect
  • The Inspection Process of preparation, conducting an inspection, making recommendations and writing the report
  • Hands-on field experience in the airport depot, looking at all the aspects of what and how to inspect
  • Inspection of Quality Control documentation and a review of frequently found issues
  • Inspection of hydrant operations
  • Issues around filter inspections with practical field demonstrations
  • Into-plane fuelling operations
  • Vehicle Pressure Control testing with time spent at the test rig
  • How to handle safety as part of an inspection
  • Documentation and records

At the end of the course delegates will be required to undertake an exam with those who pass being issued with a Certificate of Successful Completion of the Course.

The course offers not only an opportunity to learn, but also to network with other aviation fuel personnel from around the world.
